


ARRANGEMENTS

Room and Board:
On Campus
Interns will usually be bunked two-three per room in quarters retrofitted in THE SANCTUARY OF HOPE (inner city church).
A shared lounge type day room with games, electronic equipment, comfortable seating is available considered a common area and located in the same area as quarters.
Showers and laundry room are considered as common areas and located in the same area as quarters.
Meals will be taken with other staff, volunteers, mission teams or at soup kitchen events or with the interns using the soup kitchen equipment and food to prepare their own meals.
Interns will have both individual and group responsibility to properly clean and maintain quarters and common areas.
Off Campus
Occasionally room and board is made available in family homes within our community and in the homes of volunteers that life in the suburbs. This is not the norm, but is possible. Should this be the case, you and your host family will meet, discuss the arrangements and sign an agreement listing the expectations.

In-Kind Assistance
Personal hygiene products and cleaning supplies (soap, shampoo, deodorant, tooth paste, hair care, toilet tissue, sanitary supplies, etc.) are provided from our charitable warehouse (as products are available).

Transportation:
Interns must be able to provide their own transportation to and from Portsmouth and are responsible for their own transportation needs while here. Public transportation is available and car-pooling with staff and fellow interns are often the option.
